How do specific Bible passages express the meaning and practice of Eucharist?
THE ROAD TO EMMAUS - LUKE 24: 13-35
The Story of the Road to Emmaus is a practical example in the bible of how we are reminded of Christ's presence through the Eucharist. The two men don't even realise jesus was on the journey with them until he breaks the bread. This passage really expresses the meaning of the Eucharist because it shows that although we are reminded of Jesus at mass, he never really leaves us outside of it. "When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognised him, and he vanished from their sight".
John 6: 53-58
53 Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.
54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
57 Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.
58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever."
This means that Eucharist gives us life and energy and allows us to live a true Christian existence. The mention of eternal life shows that it is a requirement of us to live in accordance to the Eucharist to be accepted into God's Kingdom with open arms.

Luke 22: 19
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
These words from the new testament depict the act of the Eucharist for the first time at the Last supper. They display that the Eucharist is an act of remembrance, and that every time we consume his body it should be in remembrance of him.
